Dear Sheri,
Sorry this is a little late. We have been having some weather and it effected our wireless connection. A new box is on the way and since we have some sun today and no cloud cover, I am sending this out before the next rain storm!
As we round the bend to August, I am busy planning the next year. There will be some changes to the schedule and how the classes and website looks and feels. New teleclasses will be offered and even an e-book or two! I will be traveling more often to support women and small groups find their authentic voices in their personal lives and businesses.
I have added a comment link to the podcast. I would love to hear from you. I want to make sure you are able to easily download the interviews and would love to know what platforms you have. Let our guests know you have heard them, by telling them how you feel about their show. Suggestions for new shows are welcome. If you would like to be interviewed, send me an email and tell me a little bit about how you are a Feisty Female! Email: sheri@sherigaynor.com
The River House Studio has a new coaching telephone number. This is the telephone number that you call in for your coaching session. My voice mail remains the same. Please make a note in your address book or on your calendar. Here is the list of phone numbers that are currently active:

How To Take the Sting Out Of Branding |
 |
I have been working hard on synthesizing my brand. I know, "brand this, brand that." Why is that so important? Do I really need a brand? Aren't I already the brand? Well, maybe...and maybe not.
After much reading, researching and finding what information "fits" me, I can honestly tell you that I believe that creating a brand is important. It will help you distinguish yourself from the pack. It will show the world how you are an original. So I would say go ahead, take the leap, "Just Do It!" start creating your brand. Now I use that phrase to demonstrate what I am talking about. We may not agree with their philosophies, but we know exactly who they are every time we hear that phrase AND every time someone says the phrase in general conversation, guess who we think of? And that's how it works. Now, I wish I could tell you this was easy gals, it is not, but it is kind of fun in a hair pulling out sort of way. So be patient...it takes some time, it's organic and evolves over time.
For the first 19 years of my business I was locally known by my name Sheri Gaynor, so when I put up my first website I used sherigaynor.com. I had reserved it early on, so I would not lose it and just had it waiting in cyber-land for me to get off the pot and hire a designer. Where I live is a small Valley, with essentially a 40 mile radius, so you can easily become a big fish in a small pond if you work hard at it. I taught all over our Valley for years in the public schools with children and in wellness/healing environments, so it did not take me long to start hearing, "Oh, I have heard about you, it's great to finally meet you!"
Fast forward and a lot has changed in my business. I am no longer just working locally, I am starting to teach on a national level and so I am not a household name in these geographies. I have to work a bit harder and smarter to get that same "I have heard about you." So I had to start doing some digging inside about who I am, who I serve and how to pull it all together to create my dream brand.
Here is a list of how I took my first steps toward my brand. Maybe they will help you think about who YOU are in a new way.
- When I think of myself in my work in my most authentic way, who am I ?
- When I think of my work, what is my deepest calling ?
- Who are my ideal clients ?
- What can I help them solve ?
- How will they know me ?
- What benefit will they get by working with me ?
- What will make my work stand apart from the crowded field of coaching ?
- What images define what my business stands for, yet still has an air of professionalism ?
- What makes my business unique, professional and bold ?
- Stay tuned, the brand synthesis continues....

Appointment Policy Notice |
 |
A note to my valued clients. New Appointment Policy Appointment Policy I have struggled with writing this note, but I have to set some new boundaries around appointment changes, as the continual changes this summer, are not working for your coach. Part of being a business woman is setting a value to our commitments and taking into consideration where we need to put our time and energy.
Over the years it has been very easy to accommodate last minute changes to your schedules. You have always abided by the 24-hour cancellation policy and I thank you for that. I have to inform you that is becoming difficult for me to reschedule your appointment, without having you wait an additional 2 weeks for a new coaching session...so please take this into consideration when you book your next appointment and especially if you have to change one. I understand that emergencies arise and of course I am flexible in that regard, but it is feeling like every Monday I am juggling around 2-3 appointments a week and I can no longer work in this manner.
Please consider that your reschedule is a loss for another woman who has waited a week or two to have her appointment. Thank you for your understanding. As you know I deeply appreciate your business. Please let me know if you have a question about this new policy.
